Puerto Galera
Puerto Galera is the north-westernmost municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. It is located at the south-western end of the Isla Verde Passage, about 130 kilometers (81 mi) south of Manila.
Puerto Galera is only 3 to 4 hours away from Manila by bus and ferry.
The travel time from Manila to Batangas Pier by bus is around 2 hours.
The ferry boat from Batangas Pier to Puerto Galera takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes and you can enjoy the beautful scenery.
White Beach
A nice resort to the West side is White Beach which is more popular with local travelers. True to its name it is an amazing place for swimming, snorkeling, boat excursions and jet ski fun. Since 2001 White Beach has seen more development.
New restaurants and places to stay are rapidly encroaching on the beach itself. You can run into the water whenever you want. Many restaurants and bars provide night time entertainment. The town proper has relatively few attractions.
Sabang Beach
Sabang Beach is the main destination for foreign tourists.
Many of the boat excursions leave from here.
Big La Laguna Beach and Small La Laguna Beach are considered part of Sabang with resorts lining the beaches,
popular for local swimmers and snorkelers.
Mountains and Waterfalls
Behind the beaches are the huge mountain ranges of central Mindoro. Hiking through the jungle feels like being in "Jurassic Park". You might expect a Velociraptor or Tyrannosaurus Rex behind the trees.
To protect against scrapes and bruises wear protective clothing like long hiking pants and a long sleeve top. Remember the sunburn risk and frequent showers, so dress accordingly, maybe in a well ventilated poncho.
Be ready for short but heavy rain showers that will soak you to the skin.
You probably have to pass through water a few times, so prepare to get wet often.
If you get too hot you can always soak your clothes in a local stream or lake to stay cool.
